Snip Snip, Who's Next?

(Boulder-CO) Mark Warkentien announced today that the Nuggets have waived guard Courtney Alexander. This brings the total number of players on their roster to 17. The key number is 15. Being as I have attended the finest institutions this side of the Mississippi. That means that two people have to get cut. When I look at the list, I see four players that are sweating the final snip. Rookie Antoine Hood from Air Force Academy, figurative rookie Julius Hodge, Jamal Sampson, and Anthony Carter should all be on thin ice in the next few days.

fence,

What about the fact that Hodge hasn't seen but a few flashes of NBA time? Or that the rumor right now is that DerMarr was resigned with the intention of releasing or trading Hodge? Remember, Hodge was a Toro for the majority of last year...

fence,

Unfortunately, Hodge was not ready to play in the NBA before he was shot. He was playing in the NBDL, well might I add, but was not ready for the NBA right out of college. That is the only reason why it smells like a blunder... In my opinion, and you can take it or leave it, guys taken in the first round should be able to make teams even if they aren't playing 20-25 minutes their rookie year.

This is becoming an alarming trend in Nuggets history and I don't think I need to bring up any names to make my point.
