On an individual level, none of those players were as good as, say, Bruce Bowen (though Ron Harper became a great defender later in his career), but they were terrific at moving the flow of the ball exactly where you didn't want it to go. They got great rebounding from Dennis Rodman, but not much better than Marcus Camby. And that team also lacked a true point guard, though Scottie Pippen sometimes played that role, as did MJ. (In the late 80s they experimented with having MJ at point for about 10 games and he got like 7 triple doubles, so obviously the combined skills of those two made up for it.)drumdancehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01237304856031390831noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21831933.post-70826049829566899602008-03-06T22:53:00.000-08:002008-03-06T22:53:00.000-08:00As for why the nuggets seem to show up some nights...As for why the nuggets seem to show up some nights and not others...

This team is a mix-match of very talented players and needs the right person to stumble on the combination and unlock the full potential. Right now, its as bad as trying to do a puzzle blind-folded.

And as much as I want to, I cant immediately turn to GK as the blame.

It starts in the front office. No real structure, No GM... its a best of vote.

As I stated at the start of this year, the Nuggets and Stan the man need to take a page from one of his other teams and the other professional teams in Denver.

First, get a real, true GM and get rid of others like guys who cater to the players ego's.

Second, get a GM that has a plan. And stick to that plan.

Third, get off their ass and be proactive. Hell, be reactive. They couldnt even pull that off at the trade deadline.

Fourth, get a coach who is PROVEN that he can work with players who have ego's. No matter how justified those ego's are. And a coach who can actually design and run plays in half court.

If this team decides not to run on any given night, its almost a guaranteed loss. And I dont think anyone will argue that.

Fifth. Melo REALLY needs to step up and be a leader. So, they need to go out and find an older NBA player that can get through to Melo. Obviously A.I. aint gettin it done.

How the Fifth one is done, or if it can be done.... I dont know.nuggsfan15https://www.blogger.com/profile/09382575443666395731noreply@blogger.com
