(Boulder-CO) Tonight, the Nuggets have the luxury of playing the Memphis Grizzlies of whom they have already beaten once this year. Here’s to hoping that playing the Grizzlies remains a luxury. The Grizzlies are amongst the bottom feeders in the NBA this season and have lost 15 straight road games since a win at Indiana on January 2nd. These current road woes are Memphis' longest road losing streak since also dropping 15 in a row during the 2000-01 season with the franchise not having lost 16 consecutive games away from home since losing the final 23 road games of the 1998-99 season. All of which are good things for the Nuggets.
Denver is a very good team at the Pepsi Center. So far this year the Nuggets are 25-7 at home and have beaten their opponents by an average of 10.7 points in the last three home games including wins over San Antonio and Phoenix.
Furthermore, on Tuesday the Grizzlies lost 132-111 at Phoenix, in a game that got way out of hand early as Memphis trailed by as many as 39 in the third quarter.
This means that the Grizzlies are not only going to be tired, but that they are also going to have their backs against the wall. A wounded animal is often times the most dangerous animal, so the Nuggets need to jump right on this Memphis team and put them away quickly. Allowing Memphis to hang around, which the Nuggets are notoriously known for doing against opponents like this, could come back to bite the Nuggets and at this stage of the game. Also, and redundantly, Denver can ill-afford any more losses. Specifically against teams that are struggling. The Nuggets need this game to jumpstart this current three-game home stand because a five-game, truth-revealing, Eastern Conference road trip awaits them.
Go Nuggets!

The Memphis Grizzlies: an oppurtunity for juvenile humorists and 11 year old boys everywhere to throw in their "you're Gay" jokes.
