33 to Tie History

(Boulder-CO) Here it is, Nuggets Nation! In case you missed any of Carmelo Anthony's 33 third quarter points in last night's win over the Timberwolves here is the video evidence. 'Melo's 33 points in the third quarter tied him with George Gervin for the NBA record for the most points ever scored in a single quarter. It also broke David Thompson's Nuggets previous franchise record of 32 points set back in 1978 when "Skywalker" scored 73 points in a game against the Detroit Pistons. George Gervin broke that record later that very night back in 1978 to win the scoring title by the slimmest margin in NBA history.

Go Nuggets!
