(Boulder-CO) For the second time this preseason the Milwaukee Bucks have been bagged by the Denver Nuggets. Tonight, it was to the tune of, 114-102, at the Pepsi Center with Michael Ruffin actually being tossed after the final buzzer sounded! Talk about taking the preseason a little bit too seriously.
Denver was led offensively by Allen Iverson’s team high 21 points and six assists. AI also added five rebounds and a steal in 34 minutes of playing time. Other Nuggets of note were Carmelo Anthony (18 points, six boards, two assists, a steal, and a block), Linas Kleiza (12 points and a team-high seven rebounds), Von Wafer (13 points on 4-4 from downtown), and Kenyon Martin who played all of 20 minutes, but gave the Nuggets 10 points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals, and a block.
However, the biggest story is the first sighting of Big Brazil this season! Although he only played 13 minutes, Nene was effective with six points, four rebounds, two steals, and an assist. And coming in a close second to the Nene story is how J.R. Smith did not play, surprise-surprise…
From what I could tell from just the play-by-play and the gamecast, Denver dominated from start to finish by leading at the half by six and never losing the lead throughout the entire rest of the game. But other than the straight facts, that’s all I got!
Go Nuggets!
