(Boulder-CO) It is being reported by Stephen A. Smith that Carmelo Anthony and Kenyon Martin are stepping up to the plate by means of a college fund for Darrent Williams’s seven-year old son and four-year old daughter. The city of Denver is still coping with such a senseless random act of violence on such a tremendously promising life. Nice to see those who are in a position to step-up are doing so. A real classy move, fellas.

And they impounded the SUV and have the name of the owner (who's in jail on drug charges, I guess), so hopefully the book will actually close on this one. I don't know what it is about Denver and athletes, but I'd be staying home.
And yeah, kudos to Melo again for all the stuff he does for this community and others -- he's definitely the people's champ.
Now hopefully we can get a win tonight in LA -- it's going to be rough, but if Yak can do some Kobe-stopping (slowing), we definitely have a chance. Let's see how AI does on the road.
For everyone who calls Carmelo and Kenyon 'thugs' and write them off as self-centered and pouters remember this. For every dubious act they have on the court, there are about 10 things they do off the court that never get mentioned for people in need. The same could be said for AI too.
