When Iverson Talks Tattoo Parlors Quiver

(Boulder-CO) Allen Iverson has made statements in today’s Rocky Mountain News that should have tattoo parlors all over the Denver-Metro area worried about their livelihood. According to AI, he is done with the inking chair for good. Well, after he memorializes his two youngest children…

“I'm sick of the pain,” Iverson stated, and he elaborated with, “I’m too old for that.” My only question is this: Is he too old to be sporting that many visible tatties, or is he too old to be adding any? It seems like a little bit of a murky statement don’t you think? It’s not like he can just cover up the dozen or so tattoos that he already has.

Iverson also added, “(Carmelo Anthony) has more than me, J.R. (Smith) has more than me. I'm like fifth or sixth on the team.” Somehow I have a hard time believing that, but hey, whatever you say AI! You’re the one that’s in the shower room, not me.

My personal favorite, and maybe one that is a little bit too crazy for a father of four who is getting a little bit older, is the “Ra Boogie” on the neck of AI. I have no idea what the significance of it is, but it must be significant to something because I am sure that it hurt like a bitch! Every time that he scores from now on I am thinking about screaming “Ra Boogie” just because I like it that much.

Iverson's best friend Ra was shot 8 times and killed in Newport News. The shooting stemmed from an argument about who was a better rapper. This comes from Larry Platt's Only the Strong Survive: The Odyssey of Allen Iverson, which is informative despite Platt's man crush.

Keep up the good work.
